Who We Are
Swain Trusts & Estates advised a new client on creating a new business. Our team advised the client to create a new LLC and drafted the organizational documents to govern the new entity. We further evaluated the options for tax elections for the new business, negotiated the site lease for the new business and later registered a trade name when the business pivoted from its original purpose.
What We Do
Swain Trusts & Estates addressed multigenerational wealth transfer tax planning in anticipation of a lowered federal estate tax exemption, including overseeing the valuation of the LLC interests to be gifted, advising on the applicability of lack of control discounts on such interests and drafting the trusts for the benefit of the intended gift recipients.
Who We Help
The Swain Trusts & Estate team recently represented a Personal Representative in a contested hearing in response to an objection filed by a beneficiary and received a ruling in favor of our client from the district court judge presiding over the probate.
